Amory High holds National Honor Society induction

AMORY – Amory High School inducted 43 students into the National Honor Society on March 23.

Guest speaker was Gene Pierce of Amory. Pierce, a 1984 graduate of Amory High School, received his bachelor and master’s degrees from Mississippi State University. He is vice president of Furniture Brands.

Piece emphasized the importance of setting goals. “Know what you want to do and when you want to do it,” Pierce said.

He also told the students that peer pressure is good if surrounded with good people.

“There is going to be adversity. When it comes, do not hide,” said Pierce. “Don’t make excuses, redirect and go forward toward your goals.”

Pierce encouraged the students to keep pushing, never settle, and to keep on pressing on.

Students who were inducted into the National Honor Society were: Christopher Alim, Dillon Arriola, Samuel Baker, Lauren Beard, Kylie Christensen, Dani Coleman,Ragen Faulkner, Addie Forbus, Victoria Frantz, Hannah Gaskin, Hannah Gentry, Taylor Gosa, Chandler Gurley, Chelsey Harlow, Jalexcia Heard, Noe Holloway, Reagan Huffman, Markquan Lewis, Morgan McCollum, Collin McCrory, Amanda McDonald, Courtland Merideth, Maggie Petty, Braxton Polk, Justin Pruitt, Kayla Roberts, Nicholas Schrock, Jacqueline Sienkowski, Daniel Simpson, Mia Sims, Jennifer Steverson, Joseph Summers, Asia Swift, Charles Thomas, Hunter Tomey, Garrett Trautman, Ross Trautman, Michael Wathen, Sydney Whitlock, Jordan Whitt, Alexus Williams, Hayden Williams, Payton Williams.
